at the southern end of the Palace complex, the Shiv Niwas Palace
Hotel Udaipur was originally Maharana Fateh Singhji's residence
and the rooms around this awe-inspiring courtyard were used
as a place for entertaining his personal guests. The palace
now converted into a palace hotel has elegantly appointed suites
with private terraces, choice Indian and continental cuisine,
a private pool, as well as a Scottish Band!! Although not as
smart as some more recent additions to accommodation in Udaipur,
this hotel has a history and a sense of true regal living.
